Welcome Tiger Band Parents and Students!!!
Together we create powerful music.
A little about ourselves
The Valley View Tiger Band, while relatively young when compared to other band programs in the area, is establishing itself as an up-and-coming band program that has grabbed the attention of both other bands and communities throughout the Rio Grande Valley and South Texas.
The Valley View High School Mighty Tiger band was started in 2005 with an initial enrollment of 16 students. Since then the band has grown, with a current roster of 130 students that proudly serve the communities of Hidalgo and Pharr as well as surrounding areas. In it's short history, the Mighty Tiger band has earned many awards in both marching and concert competitions throughout South Texas. The band has also marched at Disney's Performing Arts festival held at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. The Tiger band has also placed many students in region, area, and state bands throughout the years, as well as many that have competed at the UIL State Solo and Ensemble competitions (where they have earned several "Outstanding Soloist" awards).
The Valley View ECC 8th grade band is our youngest group, having only been around for 6 years. However, the varsity group has already earned several awards and placed several students in the Jr. High All-Region band. With a current enrollment of 85 students, this program continues to grow and impress with their playing skills.
The Valley View JH band has a current enrollment of 95 7th graders and approximately 130 6th grade beginner students. The 7th grade bands have earned several UIL awards and also placed students in the Jr. Hi All-Region band. The 6th grade beginner group regularly earned Outstanding Awards at Schlitterbahn competitions.
The Valley View Band Booster Club is also an integral part of our community. This volunteer program helps support the band through various sales and community events throughout the year.
The Valley View Bands serve our community at various parades as well as public performances. We firmly believe that Fine Arts is an essential part of a students life and can benefit them greatly. This has been shown time and time again as many of our high school students graduate at the top of their class and continue to successful college careers.
We would like to encourage you to become a part of our family, either as a Band Booster parent or volunteer, or by enrolling your child in the band program. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us. We are here to serve you and your children. Come grow with us!
